UPDATE as of 1/26/2009

First of all, we want to thank everyone for all their thoughts and prayers. We want to ask for your continued prayer though. My mom got back from Mexico just fine. We did see small improvements for example: she was able to hold her head up better, lift her feet off the floor a little, move her fingers easier, and swallow a little easier. As of now though, she has plateaued. Not getting worse though, so that's okay. At the moment, we are researching IPLEX and have been in contact with an advocate for that. Hopefully IPLEX will be available soon and my mom can continue to see more improvement. IPLEX is NOT a cure, but rather a means of lessening the symptoms or slowing or stopping the progression of the disease. It is VERY expensive and of course the Insurance Companies to not pay for it, so please pray that we can afford to do this for her for a time.

For those of you that don't know, I (Danielle, her daughter) do not work so that I can take care of my mom everyday and be with my little girl. I enjoy spending the day with my mom and letting her enjoy Alyvia. She is my mom's world and my mom loves her more than anything. Alyvia always brings the smiles to my mom's face. We mostly just hang out at home, so if anyone wants to stop and visit, go ahead.

Our holidays were good and I hope everyone else's were too. Now if we could just get rid of this nasty, cold weather! Susan's birthday was January 14th and she turned 46. That's about all the updates that I have for now. I promise to post more soon. Please continue to pray for her miracle. God is capable of ANYTHING and we are still hoping and praying that he grant us a miracle. Stranger things have happened.

That's all for now,

Danielle

THANK YOU!

On behalf of my mom and me (Danielle) we just really wanted to let you and your family know that you all have been nothing but an inspiration to us. You have been our guiding force. Thanks to you, we now may have a chance to see my mom be the woman she used to be. Without you, we may never have known about Stem Cell Biotherapy. You will never understand the special place that you all have in our hearts. You truly are exceptional people. The kindness you have shown in helping and answering questions and coming to support us at the benefit are to immeasurable for words. Not only did you have all the stresses of planning your own benefit, you helped us with ours. And Laura even worked it!! It brings us to tears knowing that Michelle is going through the same thing.  We keep our fingers crossed and our prayers going that the stem cell transplant will do wonderful things for her and my mom. We were truly blessed in being able to meet such a wonderful group of people. Thanks a lot!!

XOXOXO,

Danielle and Susan

A SPECIAL THANK YOU!!!

A special "thank you" to all the people who helped out with the bake sale and pork shop sale. It was a great success and couldn't have been done without all of the help we had from the women who baked and donated their time to work the bake sale. Also to the men for cooking the pork chops and to the people who donated their time to serve the pork chops. A special thank you to Paul & Cody Smith for donating the pork chops and a thank you to Oneys in Mason City for donating the buns.  THANK YOU!!!
